A Typical Experience in a Tuscan Family
Cooking class in a Tuscan Villa near Cortona
Chef Dandy and Chef Otilia Real Italians! they will reveal the secrets of typical Tuscan home cooking!
I love food and I cook with passion and respect. Cooking isn’t difficult, you just have to do it with joy.
The fondest memories of my childhood are linked to food.
Still today, I remember the penne with tomato that I used to eat at Nursery School, the onions from my aunt Elisa’s vegetable patch which we used to eat with vinaigrette, my mum’s crostini with patè, picnics with the whole family and the milk and biscuits which my father used to prepare for me every morning.
I’ve always enjoyed learning anything, but cooking particularly interested me so what else could I do? Cook!

Our experience took us back in time. A family cooking together, sharing stories, laughing and a warm feeling of much love! This experience changed us! Enjoy the small things. Cooking together, eating together and making the sweetest memories! I met such beautiful people. This experience is unforgettable!! Much Love, Veronica & Anna
An absolute five star experience in every respect. Magical setting. Good company, terrific hands on meal preparation, and we lingered over wine and dessert for an extra hour enjoying conversation. I’ve enjoyed several of these cooking experiences, and all were great, but I put this one on the top of the list.
Had an amazing experience doing this cooking class, which actually turned out to be so much more. We met another lovely couple in the class and had the best time conversing with them and learning about their life! All the ingredients used were from Gian Mario’s own backyard - the vegetables, the wine, the olive oil. We drank so much wine and didn’t even have a hangover the next day because the quality was superb. All in all it was so much fun. Beyond the cooking, we got to hang out at the estate, eat their bruschetta and enjoy great conversations over wine and spritz’s!
An absolute must do, blew my partner and i away and was exactly what we were looking for. A genuine, organic, family atmosphere. We were a little uncomfortable at the idea of doing something like this but as soon as we arrived we felt so welcomed and relaxed. Can’t express enough how wonderful of an experience this was and the food was simply the best we’ve had on our whole trip so far! And we cooked it! Do yourself a favour and make a memory that will last forever! Thank you so much!
We did this 5 hour cooking Italian cooking course at Otilia’s and Dedalo’s home. We are on a 10 week holiday from NZ and this experience was absolutely fabulous and one of the best on our holiday so far. My husband and I went to their family home 20 minutes from Cortona to learn to make pasta, ragu and tiramisu. They were so welcoming that we felt like part of the family. Otilia taught us our to cook and she is extremely knowledgeable and professional and a lot of fun. Dedalo told us all about his wines and olives and also about the region. We were feed and given drinks through the whole evening. Dinner that we made together was superb. I feel that I could go home and make a darn good home made pasta and tiramisu now. I cant speak more highly about this lovely couple and the experience is outstanding.
Dinner was absolutely delicious, and Ottavia was warm, personable, and friendly. The vista is beautiful once you get your car up there. Despite having made homemade pasta and ragu before, we were taught all kinds of great new tricks to make homemade italian food quickly and deliciously. The male host is definitely Italian and generally directed his conversation to the one dude in our group. He also seemed to be trying to sell us his olive oil, wine, and his AirB&B spaces.
I booked this for my moms 60th as she’s always wanted to learn how to make pasta in Italy and Gian Mario and his family pulled out all the stops to make it a lovely experience for my family! Great wine and snacks in between cooking at beautiful location, personalized at the end with a cooking certificate! Very intimate, fun one on one experience as opposed to a large cooking class.
This experience is worth it. We really enjoy our group and meeting the family members. Otilia is an amazing cook, and we can really get the Italian tradition. The location is amazing. I would recommand to anyone who loves food, learning and meeting new people. The wine and olive oil from the family are exceptional. Go do it !!
This class was one of the highlights of our trip. We had a great experience spending time with a wonderful family learning to make family recipes. They are fun and kind people. All of the ingredients come from their farm. We learned how to make pasta, ragu, and the best version of Tiramisu. We were welcomed with aperol spritzers and focaccia with olive oil from their trees- we loved it so much we asked if we could purchase some bottles. They also poured us wine from their vineyard. There were seven of us and they made it look so easy. We ate outside on the patio with a beautiful view and then enjoyed their company and learning more about them afterward. Take advantage of this experience, you will be grateful you did.
The experience for every hobby chef who wants to get to know the Italian cuisine. We had a fantastic afternoon/evening. The family is enormously hospitable and helps you throughout the cooking class. You will learn to make pasta, from the beginning to the end, a delicious ragu and tiramisu. After hard work there is plenty of time to enjoy the meal, with a magnificent view of the valley. We recommend this experience to everyone.
This cooking class was amazing! We learned to do italian pasta, ragù and tiramisu. The atmosphere was amazing, warm and welcoming the whole time and it was fun to get to know the Bellini family. We got some great tips on how to do the cooking at home too. The dinner at the end of the class was a perfect way to end the whole experience!
